Ahh the conspiracy nuts have been screaming its the best kept secret! Well they got me… till I read about it I had no idea this place existed. Now I come to these sites as a skeptic looking for the conspiracy and so far I have found something off in every one of them. This will be no different… taken from their about us page. The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations was formally founded as a registered charity in September 1947. In our early work we brought together staff from different disciplines to find ways to apply psychoanalytic and open systems concepts to group and organisational life. Psychoanalytic and open systems concepts? My daughter is currently doing her psych major so the word psychoanalytic rings a bell… Freud. Sure enough Freud came to London in 1938. Freud beyond the wild weirdness of his thinking about the problematic person and sexuality also had a unique approach, free association. Lay on the couch and the analyst sitting behind you begins to ask you questions that are to be answered by the first thing that pops in you head. Now doubtless in uncovering a major trauma that may help or it may have you registered as hating your mother wanting to get intimate with your father and kill your boss …. and you’re a man’s man! Really! It doesn’t take long to see where this approach can lead in misunderstandings. Well back to the site. Ok, one thing that this place is doing is humanizing the workplace. STS or sociotechnical system which looks at the impact of technology on people and how to deal with the changes it brings. How to get workers more involved in a manner that helps them all get along. This in turn helps the company make money to pay the workers the stockholders the management the shareholders the board the owners… I am being a little sarcastic here aren’t I? They list case studies and such. Behavioral modification in the workplace is what this boils down to. A quote taken from a book written by one of the researchers. “Long term solutions to managing change cannot depend on manipulative techniques. On the contrary, they must depend on helping the individual to develop greater maturity in managing the boundary between his own inner world and the realities of his external environment.” (Miller, Dependency to Autonomy, p4). Inner world… realities of his external world…? I cross kids on a four way stop for a living… I like my inner world as long as every kid is crossed morning and afternoon and my supervisors don’t give me a hard time why care? Its boring out there! (grin) Well I think we all know who the pioneers are that gave us the ethics in the work place and interdepartmental psychoanalysis and investigations. This same man who is quoted above went on to co-found OPUS (an Organisation for Promoting Understanding in Society), a small educational charity which helps individuals recognize their relatedness to society. Teaching cults how to blend into the mainstream, that ought to be helpful. Now tough I take a tongue in cheek approach here… I have to admit that some of this analysis was useful, it helped created ways for employees to get at their managers and for the managers to go up chain of command and yet deal with employees. Some bosses were born butts and will never change others perhaps can be persuaded through all these techniques to be less “buttish” on the job. But do I smell a link to MK Ultra?

We had known that the Middle Class- Middle Management was being phased out but now we know why. “The inherent evolutionary capacity of modern computer technology- the capacity of the computer to learn from experience- will rapidly make redundant much of the specialized experience, particularly in middle management and administration, on which so much decision making has had to rely on in the past. With this redundancy many established careers paths and their associated promotion paths will disappear.”(Miller opd.pdf, p 259) With this goes the wage they earned and ipso presto bye bye middle class wage! “New kinds of organization will provide new roles requiring new skills, and attempts to preserve traditional organizations and traditional roles will inevitably lead to inefficiency and social dislocation.” (Miller opd.pdf p 259) Ever hear the dreaded words outsourced down sized obsolete will retrain? All these mean your place in the company is uncertain your pay will inevitably be reduced and or you may be both unemployed and unemployable. Adapt or die me hardies! You can read through this whole report which also talks about the cycle of invention and if what is invented becomes accepted that imitations appear and then the item has to be improved upon until such time as someone else so improves on the original so as to make it obsolete. Miller states the companies tend in this cycle as well. Well then we all now know why unemployment comes and goes in cycles. Eliot Jacques a Canadian Psychologist Psychiatrist whose work gives us the time card the per hour or per commission or annual pay. Its apparently based on the person’s ability to do tasks from short range boring small pay by hour to stratagems for forward motion in a companies over many years with large annual salaries to match. Emery and Trist did their research again using the same methodology of psychoanalysis to study the modern corporation. If one understands Freud’s approach to gathering information from his patients then one comes to understand how it can be expanded into a way to research …period. Either way these researchers results gave insight as to how companies could best deal with Information Technology.

They spoke of strategies to deal with turbulence or what you and I would call the stuff that comes when something changes at the “shop”! Thanks to Tavistock’s stock of researchers the language of business was born and of social technology too. Buzz words will change from time to time but the work place is an environment and your technology may be your system and there is still study ongoing as to the impact of all of it on you (the slave who is barely paid what they are worth!) Parenthetical mine. Either way so far I see Tavistock’s contribution as a maze of muddle meant to snow the employee and give the bosses terminology by which they can define and redefine you and your paycheck. Psychodynamics or why burn out happens. They did a study in the medical field on nursing burnout and found that the nurse came in all caring and wanting to alleviate the suffering and the very routines and procedures in place to protect them from disease and to quarantine diseases or illnesses from spreading (cross contamination) in time made them become hardened calloused numb and they would question why they were there and leave the profession. (Having decided to enter the field myself at one time I can vouch for this.) However for those who are in the medical profession (I opted out for kids marriage and the family life.) I highly recommend this read.

THE PSYCHODYNAMICS OF INSTITUTIONS I am highly aware of all that is being said here and what is alleged is true and criminal in the medical profession.

Many others have contributed to this list of studies and each insight series has proven to add to the already complex post industrial world we live in.

MKNAOMI was the code name for a joint Department of Defense/CIA research program lasting from the 1950s through the 1970s. Unclassified information about the MKNAOMI program and the related Special Operations Division is scarce. It is generally reported to be a successor to the MKDELTA project and to have focused on biological projects including biological warfare agents—specifically, to store materials that could either incapacitate or kill a test subject and to develop devices for the diffusion of such materials.
During the first twenty years of its establishment, the CIA engaged in various projects designed to increase U.S. biological and chemical warfare capabilities. Project MKNAOMI was initiated to provide the CIA with a covert support base to meet its top-secret operational requirements. The purpose was to establish a robust arsenal within the CIA’s Technical Services Division (TSD) of various lethal and incapacitating materials. This would enable the TSD to serve as a highly maintained center for the circulation of biological and chemical materials.[citation needed]
Surveillance, testing, upgrading, and the evaluation of special materials and items were also provided by MKNAOMI so as to ensure that no defects and unwanted contingencies emerged during operational conditions. For these purposes the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Command (SOC) was assigned to assist the CIA in the development, testing, and maintenance procedures for the biological agents and delivery systems (1952). Both the CIA and SOC also modified guns that fired special darts coated with biological agents and various poisonous pills. The darts would serve to incapacitate guard dogs, infiltrate the area that the dogs were guarding, and then awaken the dogs upon exiting the facility. In addition, the SOC was also designated to research the potentials for using biological agents against other animals and crops.
A 1967 CIA memo which was uncovered by the Church Committee was confirmed to give evidence of at least three covert techniques for attacking and poisoning crops that had been examined under field conditions. On November 25, 1969, President Richard Nixon abolished any military practice involving biological weapons and Project MKNAOMI was dissolved. On February 14, 1970, a presidential order was given to outlaw all stockpiles of bacteriological weapons and nonliving toxins. However, despite this presidential order, a CIA scientist was able to acquire an estimated 11 grams of deadly shellfish toxin from SOC personnel at Fort Detrick. The toxin was then stored in a CIA laboratory where it remained undetected for over five years.

“CIA projects were distinct (from those of SOD) because they involved the mating of delivery systems to lethal or incapacitating biological agents, instead of harmless agents used in vulnerability tests…SOD developed pills containing several different biological agents which could remain potent for weeks or months, and dart guns and darts coated with biological agents. SOD also developed a special gun for firing darts coated with a chemical that could incapacitate a guard dog in order to allow CIA agents to knock out the guard dog silently, enter an installation, and return the dog to consciousness when leaving. SOD scientists were unable to develop a similar incapacitant for humans.

Helms testified he knew of no destruction of records of Project MKNAOMI.

Now I was going to deactivate the light blue linking text until I clicked one.  The first one leads to actual declassified government paperwork.  Folks it doesn’t get any more uncovered than this.  This is a website admitting that our government has been monkeying around with minds.

It has been said actually that the CIA developed LSD and used it on an individual whose “trip” was documented and you can view it on of all places …. youtube  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg_urrkRVKk  it’s 23 minutes long.  This is, I hope the longer version.  Now this man went on to be a player in the hippie movement for quite a while.  Those and other experiments and somehow the recipe got out as to how to cook it for yourself…. helped found the counter culture in the sixties.  You have to think it all through.  This is classic Government creating it’s own problem and later on under Presidents Nixon and Reagan there was that War On Drugs.  Well who started it all?

MKDELTA, and its associated program MKULTRA, were mind control and interrogation operations run by the Central Intelligence Agency. Both MKULTRA and MKDELTA involved the surreptitious use of LSD and other biochemicals in clandestine operations; MKULTRA was a domestic program whose subjects were unwitting Canadian and U.S citizens, whereas MKDELTA was established to govern the surreptitious use of LSD and other biochemicals abroad.
On 26 April 1976, the Church Committee of the United States Senate issued a report, “Final Report of the Select Commititee to Study Governmental Operation with Respect to Intelligence Activities”, In Book I, Chapter XVII, p 389 this report states:
LSD was one of the materials tested in the MKULTRA program. The final phase of LSD testing involved surreptitious administration to unwitting non-volunteer subjects in normal life settings by undercover officers of the Bureau of Narcotics acting for the CIA.
A special procedure, designated MKDELTA, was established to govern the use of MKULTRA materials abroad. Such materials were used on a number of occasions. Because MKULTRA records were destroyed, it is impossible to reconstruct the operational use of MKULTRA materials by the CIA overseas; it has been determined that the use of these materials abroad began in 1953, and possibly as early as 1950.
Drugs were used primarily as an aid to interrogations, but MKULTRA/MKDELTA materials were also used for harassment, discrediting, or disabling purposes.
In his 2009 book, A Terrible Mistake, H. P. Albarelli Jr. concludes that CIA operative Frank Olson was murdered because a personal crisis of conscience made it likely he would divulge state secrets concerning several CIA programs, chief among them Project ARTICHOKE and an MKDELTA project code-named Project SPAN. Albarelli alleges that Project SPAN involved the contamination of food supplies and the aerosolized spraying of a potent LSD mixture in the village of Pont-Saint-Esprit, France in August, 1951. The Pont-Saint-Esprit incident resulted in mass psychosis, 32 committals to mental institutions, and at least seven deaths. As acting chief of the Special Operations Division, Olson was involved in the development of aerosolized delivery systems; he had been present at Pont-Saint-Esprit in August, 1951; and several months before resigning his position he had witnessed a terminal interrogation conducted in Germany under Project ARTICHOKE. Paranormal author John Grant Fuller comes to similar conclusions about the incident in his book The Day of Saint Anthony’s Fire. However, academic sources attribute the incident to ergot poisoning through a local bakery.

Project ARTICHOKE (also referred to as Operation ARTICHOKE) was a CIA project that researched interrogation methods and arose from Project BLUEBIRD on August 20, 1951, run by the CIA’s Office of Scientific Intelligence. A memorandum by Richard Helms to CIA director Allen Welsh Dulles indicated Artichoke became Project MKULTRA on April 13, 1953.

The project studied hypnosis, forced morphine addiction (and subsequent forced withdrawal), and the use of other chemicals including LSD, to produce amnesia and other vulnerable states in subjects.

ARTICHOKE was a mind control program that gathered information together with the intelligence divisions of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and FBI. In addition, the scope of the project was outlined in a memo dated January 1952 that stated, “Can we get control of an individual to the point where he will do our bidding against his will and even against fundamental laws of nature, such as self-preservation?”

Project Artichoke was the Central Intelligence Agency’s secret code name for carrying out in-house and overseas experiments using LSD, hypnosis, and total isolation as a form of physiological harassment for special interrogations on human subjects. The subjects who left this project were fogged with amnesia, resulting in faulty and vague memories of the experience.The name of this project came about from a New York City criminal who was nicknamed “the Artichoke King” Ciro Terranova. (Kaye) It was formerly known as Project Bluebird, but in August 1951, the operation was renamed. This project was a kickoff for MKUltra.

The CIA disputed which department would take over the operation. Finally, it was decided that an agent from the CIA research staff, a former army brigadier general, Paul F. Gaynor, would oversee it. The CIA chose the weaker and less intelligent as its subjects, which they thought to be homosexuals, racial minorities and military prisoners. The operation took place in special isolated locations throughout Japan, Europe, Asia, and the Philippines.

CIA Special Research Project Bluebird 1952

The following formerly classified document from 1952 on the CIA’s Project BLUEBIRD, an offshoot of Project MKULTRA which focused on hypnosis and behavior modification as a means of preventing Agency employees from providing intelligence to adversaries, was obtained from the CIA Freedom of Information Act Reading Room.

Interestingly enough there may be a lot of PDF documents about this and there are PDF documents available for all the other Mind Control or MK programs that the government is finally fessing up to.
